Roofing across Los Angeles County, from one El Sereno office
Los Angeles County runs from the beach to the high desert, and its roofs change as fast as its weather. We work the cities and communities within reach of our El Sereno office, with each one's permit rules in mind.

Our roofing crews cover the central part of Los Angeles County: the City of Los Angeles, the San Gabriel Valley, the Gateway Cities, the Westside and the near San Fernando Valley. We repair and replace shingle, tile, metal and flat roofs, pull the permit from whichever city or county office governs the address, and answer calls 24/7.
One county, very different roofs
A Spanish revival bungalow in Alhambra, a 1950s ranch house in West Covina, a hillside home under the Verdugo Mountains and a flat-roofed apartment building near the coast all sit in the same county, and each one asks for a different roof. Clay and concrete tile cover the older neighborhoods, architectural shingle covers most post-war tracts, and built-up or single-ply membranes top the duplexes and apartment buildings.
The weather changes across the county too. Coastal roofs deal with salt air and morning fog, while the inland valleys bake through long summers that age shingles and underlayment faster. Fire zones run along the foothills from the Santa Monica Mountains to the San Gabriels. We plan each job around the roof that's actually there, which is why our roof inspections start in the attic as well as on top.

Los Angeles County has 88 incorporated cities plus unincorporated communities, and each city runs its own building department, so a re-roof in Burbank, Alhambra or Santa Monica is permitted locally, not by the City of Los Angeles. The state energy code also splits the county into several climate zones, from coastal zone 6 to inland zones 8 and 9, which changes the cool-roof rules from one address to the next.

Tile Roof Repair in Los Angeles County

Ponding water fixes

Roof Leak Repair

Who issues the permit depends on the address
Inside the City of Los Angeles, re-roof permits come from LADBS. In incorporated cities like Burbank, Alhambra or Downey, the city's own building division issues them, and in unincorporated communities such as Altadena or East Los Angeles, Los Angeles County Public Works does. We look up the right office for your address before we quote.
Fire-zone rules follow the state and local maps, and cool-roof requirements follow the climate zone, so two homes a few miles apart can need different products. Both go into our written scope so the inspection holds no surprises.
