Gutter installation and repair for Los Angeles homes
LA rain arrives in a few hard storms, and gutters that sag, leak or dump at the foundation do their damage in hours. We hang seamless aluminum gutters on solid fascia, move downspouts away from the house and fit guards where trees drop debris.

Gutter installation and repair in Los Angeles covers seamless aluminum gutters formed on site, repairs to sagging or leaking runs, downspouts rerouted away from foundations, and guards for homes under trees. We check the fascia behind every run first, because gutters hung on soft wood pull loose.

Gutters decide where a storm's water goes
A roof sheds a lot of water in a short LA storm. Without gutters it pours off the eaves, splashes the stucco and pools at the foundation, in window wells and on walkways. Gutters that are clogged, pitched wrong or pulled loose do the same thing, concentrated at one spot.
We start with the fascia, since hangers need solid wood. Rot behind the gutter is common, and replacing the fascia first saves hanging the run twice. Then we size gutters and downspouts to the roof area they drain.

Signs your gutters need work
Water over the edge in rain
Overflow means a clog, a bad pitch or an undersized gutter.
Sagging runs
Hangers pulled out of soft fascia or spaced too far apart.
Drips at seams and corners
Old sealant has failed at the joints.
Peeling paint below
Water is running behind the gutter onto the fascia.
Pooling at the foundation
Downspouts are dumping water next to the house.
Plants in the gutter
Debris has sat there for seasons.
Streaks on the stucco
Water sheets down the wall instead of the downspout.
What gutter work costs depends on
Gutters are priced by the run, and five things set the number:
- Linear feet
Gutter runs are priced by length, corners and outlets.
- Fascia condition
Soft wood behind the gutter is replaced first.
- Height and access
Second-story and hillside eaves need taller ladders or lifts.
- Downspout work
Extra outlets, extensions and drain lines add parts.
- Guards
Micro-mesh costs more than simple screens.
Gutter guard types compared
The right guard depends on what falls from your trees.
| Guard | Keeps out | Best for | Tradeoff |
|---|---|---|---|
| Screen | Leaves | Broadleaf trees | Small debris gets through |
| Micro-mesh | Leaves, needles, seeds | Pines and fine debris | Needs an occasional brush-off |
| Reverse curve | Leaves | Heavy leaf fall | Can overshoot in hard rain |
Gutters, downspouts and guards
Seamless aluminum gutters
Seamless gutters are formed on site from a coil into one continuous length per run, so the only joints are at corners and outlets. We hang them on hidden hangers screwed into solid fascia, pitch them toward the outlets and seal the corners. Fewer joints means fewer leaks as sealant ages. Hangers go in at close spacing so a full gutter doesn't sag between them, and every run slopes toward its outlet so water doesn't sit and leave stains along the fascia.

Downspout repair and rerouting
A downspout that ends at the foundation just moves the problem. We repair crushed and disconnected downspouts, add outlets where one is overloaded, and extend or reroute them to discharge away from the house onto a splash block, a drain line or a planted area. On hillside lots we also look at where the water goes next, because a downspout dumping onto a slope or a neighbor's yard causes problems of its own, and a drain line or dispersal point is usually the better answer.

Gutter guards
Homes under oaks, pines, jacarandas or palms fill gutters fast. Guards keep leaves out while letting water in, and the right type depends on what falls. We fit screen or micro-mesh guards to suit your trees, and they still open for cleaning when needed. Guards also keep dry leaves out of gutters during fire season, which matters on homes near brush. We'll tell you honestly when a simple cleaning schedule would serve your house better than guards would.
Brands we install and service
After a Santa Ana event with gusts over 90 mph swept into Pasadena and Altadena, stripping shingles and tearing tile, the granules and broken pieces ended up in gutters and downspouts, which is why we clear and check them after any big wind. In Lincoln Heights, home to some of the best-preserved Victorians in California, the job changes: gutters should suit the house, with profiles and colors that work with the trim.

We run water through to confirm pitch and flow.

Other ways to reach usWith little rain some homes skip them, but a hard storm then dumps water at the foundation and on the stucco.
Yes. With joints only at corners and outlets, there are far fewer places to leak as sealant ages.
Often. We reseal joints, rehang sagging runs and fix downspouts; rusted or badly bent runs are better replaced.
At least once a year before the rain, more often under trees. Guards reduce the need but don't remove it.
Yes, with guards made to sit under or against tile edges without lifting the tiles.
Yes, with profiles and colors chosen for the architecture, including half-round on some older homes.
It can be scheduled with it; see how a full roof replacement sequences the edge work.
